General contractors and subcontractors are often faced with purchasing materials and equipment that do not fall within their typical trade supplied items. Additionally, there are often specialty or detailed materials that companies do not have the time to manage on their own. Items that fall in that gap area are often times procured through a purchasing agent or purchased from a subcontractor without expertise in that particular product.
